Our 2nd Anniversary

This past Sunday, we celebrated eight years of marriage and our 2nd anniversary of the date of our marriage with both sets of parents and an aunt and uncle.

The big party was held at our favorite local restaurant, Chef Geoff's, but still was only a pale copy of our actual wedding reception in that it was only five courses instead of seven. We did make a special request of wild pacific salmon, that many of our guests took advantage of, and I especially liked the mushroom and goat cheese crostini and fried green tomato appetizers, not to mention the third course of lemon-lime sorbet.

The deserts were small reflections of our wedding cakes--a chocolate one for us, and a white cake for the mother of the bride.

We'll hold an even bigger party in another four years!

Great photo, guys, and congratulations! Also remarkable that you had two sets of parents there who are presumably still married to their first spouses! Not many of us could boast such a familial configuration, and it augers well for your chances of a long and happy marriage yourselves.

Yes, we are truly blessed in this--my parents celebrated their 40th anniversary in 2002 and Jill's have celebrated their 45th, I believe. Now, if only science would make some breakthroughs so Jill and I could post some numbers like that!

Maybe I'll be retired & come to the next party. Don in Lampasas
