Miscellaneous Impressions of Malaysia

A couple of weeks after moving here and we're feeling pretty comfortable driving around, especially now that we've obtained the automatic toll payment device (the Smart pass). We can drive to our work place and back to the hotel without direction from the GPS, and also to our new home (although not from the work place to the new home yet--last time I tried that, I made a wrong turn yet again).

Lyssa Zampa moth

While we haven't had a chance yet to do any wildlife watching (bird or otherwise), we did spot this interesting moth in the courtyard of our workplace. I couldn't find a common name for it (I'm sure there's one in Bahasa Malaysia), but the scientific one is the Lyssa Zampa.

I had the chance this weekend to go by our new villa and take a picture. The landlord is still moving out, as you can see some stuff still staged there in the garage, but we're on target to receive the keys on Friday, 1 August. Having the keys mean nothing if we don't have something in the house, so we have some furniture ordered. A couple of outdoor chairs come on 1 August and then two indoor chairs and the bed arrive the next day. For the bed we'll need sheets and a pillow, which is a good thing this finally arrived: the air shipment!

The air shipment arrives!

Work wise, however, this next week is a real doozy, as most of the team will be arriving over the next couple of days in order to put the final touches on a major presentation on Thursday.
