Blood Orange Negroni

Today's Washington Post featured a drink called the Unusual Negroni, substituting an Italian aperitif for the Campari and using Lillet Blanc to round the gin out. Having had the usual Negroni and finding it more than just a little bitter for my taste (and I'm a man who likes an unsweet drink), modifying the Negroni recipe appealed to my sense of experimentation. We had some leftover orange juice from a roasted beet dish that we were making for dinner, so I combined that with Miller's gin and Lillet, with a liberal dash of Blood Orange bitters. The fresh juice was plenty sweet, so after taking a first sip, I went ahead and added another dash of bitters to my drink. Next time, I think I'll cut back on the amount of juice (although I'm not sure that gin, Lillet and Blood Orange bitters by itself would work, so cutting the juice entirely doesn't sound like an option to me).
