Playtesting Savage Worlds

Spent the evening running through a playtest of a scenario that my buddy Matt has written for Savage Worlds based on his own setting creation. Pinnacle has expessed some interest in the scenario and the setting, but they wanted him to spice it up a bit before they playtested it and made a final decision whether to publish or not. We were able to smartly bypass a lot of things by playing smart and identify a couple of areas where he could tighten it a bit by adding some explanation and suspense, but otherwise it's as good as any store bought module I've ever found and a damn sight more original in its setting that 90% of what's out there.

We've been playing this same setting online in a play-by-post game that Matt's been running since this summer. We've finished the first "season" or arc of the online game, and it's shaping up nicely. You can read a bit about that game, and the setting, on the wiki(under Current Games -> Savage Worlds -> Valley of Sickness). The online game itself is private in the forums, although we're always considering new players.
