The Lifelist
One of the things we do when we travel is take some time to birdwatch in the sense of trying to spot and identify birds in the locations we find ourselves in. J has been an avid birder for years, albeit one that isn't obsessive. Her "lifelist," the list of birds she's seen in her lifetime, is a checklist in the back of a paperback bird identification guide.
When we started taking digital pictures, I immediately thought of the idea of a lifelist that consisted entirely of pictures: documenting through images the places, things, and animals we had seen. I finally got around to creating a photoblog in this space, called the lifelist, to begin capturing those pictures in one space, because I needed to stop putting it off just because I hadn't found a page design that I had liked. One thing that made doing so easier is the new version of Movable Type and its support for subcategories, which will enable me to organize pictures of, for example, animals into subcategories of mammels, reptiles, and birds.
The latest picture from the lifelist can be found in the sidebar of the main blog, in an effort to add a little visual pizazz to the site. Hope you enjoy it!
UPDATE 2005: Decided to close this separate blog to simplify my life some. Pictures are now hosted on flickr, and will be posted on here under the "vision" category.
Very cool. :)
