Today's Poem: "The Rise and Decline of the Third Martini"

Even though my friend Jim Henley says that you shouldn't post a poem within two years of its creation, I'm anything if not an iconoclaust, so I give you this one, in the style of both Ogden Nash and Dorothy Parker, written six months ago.

The Rise and Decline of the Third Martini
(apres Dorothy Parker)

The first one was fancy, and shaken with care.
The second I just poured, the empty glass there.
I'm not sure what's in the third, here in my hand,
Because if I finish it off, I might have to stand.
