Say Goodbye to Comment Spam
Although quite annoying (especially given that my wife was showing off the capabilities of blogs to her advisor right after someone posted a stupid "penis enlargement" spam to my comments), I wasn't being hit as hard by comment spam as some others (who were reporting 20-30 posts at a time). But, one comment or a hundred, they were nasty, unwelcome, and uncivil. Thanks to Jay Allen, however, there's now MT-blacklist, a comment spam filter/killer that's the best bouncer for your personal online party.
Jay's says he's making this available because of the demand, but I think I'm going to drop a ten-spot on him anyway, as this will easily save me that much money (and, in all actuality, much more) in time alone.

I have been using [spam killer product name withheld] to control spam for about three months now. I am very pleased with it. One of the nice things is that it is a plug-in to your email client. It can be used with Outlook, Outlook Express and AOL. There is only one other product I'm aware of for AOL. The price is reasonable and it catches about 95% of my spam.

It shouldn't surprise me, but yet it does--when I followed the link on Tim's name above there, I discovered that not only is he a happy user of [spam killer product name withheld], he's also a proud spammer for them. I've removed the reference and the url (no free google points from me for spammers).
Glen, thanks for your contribution. I really appreciate the thought and effort.
