Make-up!

When I first started immediacy, I was still thinking about my now-defunct reading diary, First Impressions, leavened with the blogs that I had just discovered. It's only natural that the first year of this blog then resembled, both in look-and-feel and content, a strange mixture of the two.

I wanted this place to be more than just a diary, though. If I wanted to do a diary, I could join the good folks over at LiveJournal. No--I wanted immediacy to be exactly what that word signified for me: comments on media with the immediacy of the blog. A more timely First Impressions that didn't have to limit itself to books or the self-imposed deadline of monthly issues. And I wanted the look to reflect that content.

I hope this new look goes a little farther in doing so.

Thanks to Amy at Quixotic Pixels for her great work on images and design. I've modified what she prepared for me some, however, so if anything is broken, it's likely my fault not hers.

And I would love to hear what you think of it (especially if it's breaking on anyone's browser).
