Up the Creek (without a parking spot)

We had a prior engagement this afternoon to see Kathleen and Yves off to Arizona (Jill had been a AAAS fellow with Kathleen, and Kathleen had also served on my thesis committee as the science representative). Jill also needed to go see her horse, so we had just a little time to go caching (quickly becoming an obsession, you can see).

The one we picked, Up the Creek, was over by Cabin John Park. We had jumped on to Tuckerman from the Beltway due to the excessive traffic on the highway, and as we neared the geocache, I told Jill to turn left. This may have been a mistake, because Jill noted that Tuckerman bordered the park better. Can't be sure about that, because the log implied that at least one group took off hiking for it from Bradley.

We parked the car at a school when we were within 700 yards of the cache, but after walking through the baseball park, MJ led us back into some neighborhoods and we were stymied by private property. Back in the car, we drove around looking for access to the park, but we couldn't find a place where we could enter (the spot on Bradley didn't seem very inviting--very overgrown with no clear path into the woods).

Our first failure. We figure that we need to study the map a little more (a GPS doesn't substitute for a map, just makes it easier to find yourself on it) and give ourselves more time.
