dive into mark (the deeper the better)

I first started reading Mark Pilgrim's excellent blog, dive into mark, last month during his special series called "30 Days to a More Accessible WebLog" (which I still need to finish implementing). I continued to read him because he's a great writer, with a touch of style to go with the Web design and programming chops, because he can make this CSS stuff sound interesting.

But today I see that not only does he have all that going for him, but he also likes good music. The reference he makes is to Jane Siberry's best song, "Everything Reminds Me of My Dog," which will go on that compiliation CD I'm going to make one of these days of all those songs that are just too clever for their own good. The short list of this compiliation also includes XTC's "Mayor of Simpleton," John Doe's "Take #52," and Elvis Costello's "Everyday I Write the Book."

Except that Jane Siberry's best song is "The Walking"--a commentary on the end of a relationship by a narrator who is sad and confused rather than bitter or exultant.

Thanks for the opportunity to set you straight. Heh.
