Two more rejections
Scott Edelman of SF Age returned "My Radon Daughter" with the comment "though it had its moments, it did not win me over."
My correspondence with Janis Wells, the assistant editor at Amazing Stories, continues. She rejected "Cinema Verite" by starting out giving me some pointers for places to go while at Wiscon, less than two weeks away. She found the plot too predictable, even from the dream beginning. She writes, "You've been a good sport to accept all my criticisms so graciously. I owe you a drink, Glen." Pshaw. I owe her a drink for taking the time to actually comment on the stories that I've sent her, instead of just enclosing a form rejection. Janis is the kind of reader you hope to find, but are so rare these days.
I also owned the fortune of having Janis Wells critique my work. She proved a rare and valuable exception to those struggling in their first publication efforts.
If you have updated contact information for Ms. Wells, I would like to contact her.
Thank you for your time.
